my cat blog

The American Shorthair was one of the first five cat breeds recognized by the CFA, and was originally called the "Domestic Shorthair."If you are looking for a low maintenance cat, the American Shorthair is right up your alley. They are solidly built cats, descendants of ancestors who arrived from Europe with the early pioneers, and are full-fledged All-American cats, just as the descendants of those human pioneers are All-Americans today. In the early part of the 20th Century breeders started selectively breeding the American Shorthair in order to preserve its native quality. The result is a cat that is consistently rated among the most popular cat breeds. Pictured is GP Blakkatz Yukon Cornelius, American Shorthair Cat.
Tortoiseshell cats are so reminiscent of fall-colored foliage, that we traditionally celebrate torties in November, when fall is in full fling. Today, it's windy, rainy, and blustery here, but I imagine in parts North and east, colorful leaves are piled in stacks like tortie kittens. Tortoiseshell cats, like their sisters, the calicoes, have spunky, sassy personalities - what we often describe as 'tortitude.'
This gallery has just been updated with a number of new tortie cat photos, and I'll continue to add to it through the end of the month. Enjoy these colorful tortie pictures, and if you are lucky enough to share your home with one, you may submit your photo also. Please comply with the Photo Submittal Guidelines. I'm sorry but I can't accept photos sent without all the necessary information.
Vaccines do not inject a miraculous shield against disease. They work by fooling the body into thinking it is threatened, thereby stimulating the body's own defense system into producing antibodies to fight off the invader.
Recent years have brought much discussion among veterinarians, breeders, and cat owners on the value, safety, and necessity of some vaccines. The resultant rumors mixed with fact have caused concern among cat lovers: Does my cat really need to be vaccinated every year? Are vaccines more harmful than helpful? This article will answer many of your questions. You may also post your own experiences using the form at the bottom of the article.
